4 Things to Do During Quarantine

If you are anything like me, this quarantine has put a damper on your mood. It is only sunny about two days a week and the days bleed together at this point. The roots of my hair are growing out and looking awful, my nails are a wreck, and I am as pale as ever. I spent a while letting the isolation from my job, friends, and family start to alter how I feel. I decided that I needed to do something to give myself a pick-me-up and really take control of my life and appreciate the little things. Below I have compiled a list of things to do during quarantine to make your days full of fun and happiness again.

1. Baskin Tiger on Apple The Sunshine

You know what I’m talking about here. ↖️

Anyway…

This is one of the most important steps in starting my day off right. I wake up, brush my teeth, start my coffee, and then I walk through my house and raise all of the blinds and open the windows. First of all, the sunlight streaming in through the windows just puts joy in my heart. When all of the windows are open, the warm spring breeze comes in. Sometimes the grass is freshly cut and when the smell of fresh cut grass drifts into your windows, it just smells like spring and happy times. Trust me, your mood will just lift when you see spring and sunshine right out your windows.

2. Give Yourself A Makeover

I always feel better when I do my nails, put on a cute outfit, put on makeup that I love, and do my hair. When it comes to giving yourself a makeover, it is especially important to just take your time and focus on yourself. Stretch out doing your nails (Here are my nail products) by pushing back and trimming your cuticles and really put your attention and effort into what you’re doing. For those of you with little ones and a crazy household now that school is not in session, I know that carving out time to just spend on yourself can be difficult. It may not sound like much, but if you get 5 minutes to yourself, when little ones are playing, napping, eating etc. put one some mascara and lip gloss or paint your nails a shade that makes you happy. This will have a sizable impact on your mood and it will put you in a better mood for the rest of the day.

I did these nails myself! You can too! Click the photo for the nail products I used.

3. Start A New Hobby

While in quarantine it seems that I have a lot of extra time. That is not to say that I have nothing to do, it is just more fun to find something new and exciting to start a hobby. I would much rather pick up a new hobby than organize my closet… Again! Haha! Any who, I picked up blogging as a hobby. I have had a lot of trouble in the past finding a hobby . When I discovered that I could have a lot of fun blogging, it really lifted my spirits and is filling up my time nicely! Also, it gives me a creative outlet and a place to channel my energy!

4. Go Outside And Explore

This one may seem difficult, but the stay at home orders keep you from doing any non-essential activities. Staying physically fit is seen as an essential activity, so going on a walk is allowed! Grab your water bottle, your camera, and your loved ones and just get some fresh air! Go explore somewhere you have never been. Wear your waterproof shoes and let yourself get away from your house while still being safe. Trust me, it will heal your spirit.
