There have been so many new shows come out lately that look so interesting and I figured I would come on here and recommend some great ones. Plus, who does not love some great snacks to have while you binge watch some tv? So, in no particular order, here are my favorite Netflix shows + movie night snack ideas.
THE WITCHER
I cannot rave enough about how much I love The Witcher. This show is very complex and pulls you in like crazy. Throughout this show, there are several different timelines being played out simultaneously. Before we recognized that, Ian and I had to really think to understand what exactly was happening here. I love shows that make me think and are complex. If you are watching this show, make sure that you can give it your full attention because every word of this show has deep meaning, foreshadowing, etc. I would seriously look forward to coming home from work and watching this show. I would get the same feeling as when you know there is yummy food at home and you have been thinking about it all day. If you watch anything from my recommendations, this is the one.

AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER
I love Avatar: The Last Airbender because it is a great mix of a lot of things that I look for in a show. First of all, The stakes are extremely high in this show. The fate of the world rests on what happens to play out in the lives of the characters. Also, this show is funny. Ian and I watched it together and actually just finished last night. We watched it before when we were kids, but re-watching it was still great! I can’t tell you how many times Ian and I belly laughed about this show. There is also a lot of character development throughout the show. Every character’s personality and choices are challenged. In the end you really get to see how much the characters have changed.
SWEET MAGNOLIAS
This one is a total 180° turn from Avatar. This show is a great example of the struggles that so many people face. I feel like the problems that they address in this show are so relatable. I think it gives people the opportunity to give a completely objective and unbiased look at their own situation. Although there is only one season available at the moment, you really get attached to the characters. The season ends in a MAJOR cliff hanger, which I love and hate at the same time. Also, this gives off serious Hart of Dixie vibes, so if you loved that show like I did, make sure you watch Sweet Magnolias.
DEAD TO ME
I’m telling you, I absolutely love this show. It is so funny and emotional and just truly one of my favorite shows of all time. The trailer above is only the trailer for the first season, but as you can see there is lots of drama. Click HERE to see the trailer for the second season but BE WARNED there are spoilers in the season 2 trailer!!! There are tons of twists and turns in the plot, so you are always on the edge of your seat and it keeps you wanting more. I cannot even choose which season is better. Just trust me. Take the time to watch this show and binge with me.
OUR PLANET
The health of our planet and wildlife has always weighed heavy on my heart. I began this documentary expecting it to be like the many others before it. This show comes from the makers of Blue Planet and Planet Earth, but is far superior. Instead of showing numerous videos of baby animals dying to a predator, it shows them escaping. Instead of showing complete and utter devastation that humans have caused, it shows how efforts to improve the planet and animal populations have worked. It tells you that there are less than 600 Siberian Tigers living in the wild due to humans. They then tell you that since the 1980’s their population numbers have steadily increased. It is everything I wanted out of a docu-series about earth.
