Major Master Bedroom Re-Do + Reviews

Hey guys! It’s been a while! How the heck are ya?! I wanted to jump on and write a quick blog post about re-doing my master bedroom + reviewing all the items I got!

So before I jump into it, I wanted to include photos that show what our room looked like before I started to touch it (please ignore the messiness and the basket of dirty clothes in the corner).

So as you can see, there is absolutely nothing luxurious or relaxing about our bedroom. Really our bedroom was just filled with items we had acquired over the years. Nothing was matching in color palette or theme.

I actually didn’t even tell Ian I was re-doing our master bedroom. I was scrolling through the Target app because I was actually on the hunt for new sheets.

I kept seeing Madi Nelson, one of my most favorite influencers and owner/founder of Talulah, using Boll and Branch sheets and raving about how amazing they are. Personally, I would love to own some sheets from them, but I could not justify spending $230 on a sheet set.

I searched Amazon and other places for nice sheets that wouldn’t break the bank and I was coming up empty handed. The only sheets that had great reviews were $150+ and all the cheap ones were just that — cheap. There really weren’t any middle of the road sheets that were great quality and more affordable. I remember Darylann Denner talking about Target’s Casaluna line and I decided to check it out. Annnndddd from there, you know how browsing Target goes! Haha!

Anywho, I got super inspired to do a master bedroom rehaul and picked up entirely new bedding, and ran to Goodwill to puck up some decor. I really like going to Goodwill because it presents a really good challenge for me to take something that looks ugly/useless and make it into something I love.

I ordered Target delivery (which is amazing by the way) and everything I picked up is linked below:

Needless to say, I am beyond impressed with everything I got. The sheets are so soft and NEVER slip off the corners. We always had a huge problem with that and I even ordered the stretchy things that clip onto the sheet to keep it on place, but there was no need to use them. Plus the sheets get softer the more you wash them.

The duvet insert was something I was fretting about before I got it. Ian is an incredibly hot sleeper and I am always cold when I sleep, so you can see how that would present some difficulty. I ordered the lightweight duvet insert and it was actually perfect.

The duvet cover is a creamy white color, super soft, and looks luxurious. Even the pillow cases it came with are super cute!

The knitted blanked is amazingly soft, warm, and really big! Its folded in half on the bed and it was under $60. I love how this element breaks up the white and makes the space warmer and more inviting.

The curtain rod and curtains make the space way more grand. ALWAYS add the curtain rod far higher and far wider than the window it is covering because it makes the window seem bigger and the ceilings seem higher.

Overall, I love everything that I got 100%, even down to the candles and $5 plants! I hope this inspires you to re-do your own master bedroom and if you do, tag me in you photos! I would love to see the before and after!
