Y’all already know that I love to online shop. One reason I started blogging is to share my favorite finds and reviews on them. In having spent so much time online shopping, I have picked up a few ways that you can save money on the items you have been dying to get your hands on. Here are some tips and tricks to save money while online shopping.
Subscribe to My Blog via Email
Subscribe to receive an exclusive email containing my discount codes to your favorite retailers. This also allows you to see my exclusive monthly newsletter, which shows the months’s best deals and blog best-sellers.
Find Those Discounts
One of the best ways to save money while online shopping is to find those discounts. Often times when you first visit a website, they offer a coupon if you sign up for emails. If you are like me, seeing lots of emails in your inbox is annoying. What I did was created an email strictly for coupons. This way, I can utilize the discounts offered through email, but not have them mixing in with important emails.
Wait For Holiday Sales
It seems like every company and every website has a huge blowout sale for EVERY holiday. Columbus Day, Presidents Day, and Memorial Day are great examples of huge sales outside of the normal holiday season. If you are willing to wait for these holidays, you can score some major savings.
"Come Back" Coupons
Sometimes you find something you love on a website that does not offer a coupon through email or otherwise. I honestly get a little disappointed when I cannot find a coupon for a website. This is when you need to try to access a “come back” coupon. First you create an account with your email that is exclusively for coupons. Then you add all the items you want to purchase into your cart. Next you need to close out of your browser. Many websites have algorithms that notice when you left something in your cart. They will usually send you a coupon in your email within a couple days. They use this coupon to try to entice indecisive customers to come back an buy the items in their cart. The great thing is, you were already planning on buying those items, but you wanted a coupon. Now you have one.
Use a Coupon Website
A couple of my favorite coupon websites are RetailMeNot and specifically Honey. RetailMeNot is helpful because you can add the app on your phone and use the coupons for online or in-store. Honey is my favorite because they have an extension for your browser on your computer. Honey automatically searches every other coupon website for coupons. It automatically applies the coupons when you are on the checkout screen of a website. This means there is no muss or fuss when adding coupons and it keeps the coupon that saves you the most money. Also, every time you use the Honey extension, it racks up HoneyGold which can be turned into money-off certificates. And you can add an item to your droplist and Honey will notify you when the price of an item drops.
Use an Affiliate Code
If none of the above options work, it may be an option to use an affiliate code. An affiliate code is a code that is provided to influencers. This code is used to give the influencer’s followers a discount to improve sales for an item or website. For example, I could not find a coupon for the phone case that I wanted. I was wanting to buy a Loopy Case but I could not find a code, and paying full price is just painful to me. I journeyed to my favorite blogger Katy Roach’s website LivingMyBestStyle and she had a code (KATY10) for 10% off of a loopy case. Influencers have a code for many different brands like Tarte, Navy Haircare, etc. So, definitely check your favorite bloggers’ websites for discount codes.
